For this project, you will be working independently or with a partner to create a website about ancient Egypt. You will be developing a homepage, that explains the concept of your website; multiple information pages, a sources page, and a vocabulary terms page.
Step 1: Set up a Weebly Site with your partner
- Go to WEEBLY and set up a free website. If you are working with a partner, make sure that you BOTH know the username and login information. You will either need to use one person's email address, or you can come get a "class" email from Mrs. Murphy.
2. Choose SITE!
3. Choose a THEME/DESIGN (you can change this later if you want).
4. Options for your Website (you have to pay for things with stars):
- Title
- Text
- Image and Text
- Image ONLY
- Gallery (of images)
- Slideshow (of images)
- Map
- Dividers (a nice way to divide information and sections)
- Columns
- Button
- Document
- Files
Requirements for Home Page:
- For your website, you need to create a "reason" for the site. For example, perhaps you have invented a time machine that went back in time, and you chose to travel back to ancient Egypt. Your website could be a place where you share your adventures and what you learned. The homepage, then, would explain the time machine and the adventure.
- Examples: Time machine, you are a "teacher" creating a site for students, Travel journal, etc.
- REQUIREMENTS: Your homepage must: explain the "reason/concept" for the website, give a outline of what can be found on the site, include 1 or more visual(s), include your names
Information Pages:
- On the information pages, refer to your instructions and/or the information on each page of this website to include all the required elements.
- On this website, there are pages that explain the requirements for demonstrating your understanding of the material. Check out each individual page to see the requirements.
